Please join authors Diane Purvey and John Belshaw as they discuss Vancouver’s gritty underbelly in the 1930s to 1960s.

Through extensive research and by unearthing archival photographs, their book Vancouver Noir: 1930-1960 charts an age of rising moral panics: smuggling rings, police corruption, crime waves, the sex trade, and the glamourization of sex, providing a fascinating look at the ways in which this city was made and unmade.
